The Department of Geriatrics at Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital is the same entity as the Guangdong Provincial Institute of Geriatrics and the hospital's East Ward (Dongbingqu). After ~50 years of development, it has become a major geriatric medicine center in South China integrating clinical care, healthcare and research, and the largest cadre healthcare base in South China.
